Two official sources that do not match
We do not hide the difference: we show both figures with their source and date.
- Chiapas. The Civil Registry's official "Costos de Servicios 2026" sheet charges 1,892 pesos at the office; the text of the Fee Law published by the state Congress (amended August 19, 2026) says 1,785. Every line is about 6% higher and we found no instrument that explains it.
Sources and review date
- Fee: Civil Registry "Costos de Servicios 2026" and State Fee Law, art. 12 (amended Aug 19, 2026). Requirements: Civil Code, arts. 78-81.
- UMA. Fees in UMA were converted at 117.31 pesos, the 2026 daily value, and rounded to the cent. We did not average or estimate any figure.

Limitations
- What we infer. When we say a requirement "does not appear" in a code or a procedure sheet, that is all it means: it is not in the text we read. It is not a rule that prohibits it.
Fees are updated every year. Before you pay, confirm with your registry office.
