Two official sources that do not match
We do not hide the difference: we show both figures with their source and date.
- State of Mexico. The official Civil Registry portal, checked on October 19, 2026, charges 2,037 pesos outside business hours at the registry office and 3,058 at home. The Financial Code (art. 142, amended October 1, 2026) only accounts for 1,015.68 outside the office: 435.34 for the registration plus a 580.68 surcharge. We did not find the instrument that sets the difference.
Sources and review date
- Fee: official Civil Registry portal (2026 costs) and Financial Code, art. 142 (amended Oct 1, 2026). Requirements: official Civil Registry portal and Civil Code, art. 4.2.
- UMA. Fees in UMA were converted at 117.31 pesos, the 2026 daily value, and rounded to the cent. We did not average or estimate any figure.

Limitations
- What we infer. When we say a requirement "does not appear" in a code or a procedure sheet, that is all it means: it is not in the text we read. It is not a rule that prohibits it.
Fees are updated every year. Before you pay, confirm with your registry office.
This page summarizes official sources; it is not legal advice. Confirm with your civil registry office before paying.
